    Camshaft Manufacturers Description: The Summit Stage 1 Cam is the largest that can be run with a factory tune in 1987-1996 TBI, L98, and LT1 engines. It has a perceptible idle and makes great power through the range. A torque converter isn't required. It pulls strongly from 1500 to 6000 rpm with good valve springs. Standard firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

    Notes: This is a step nosed camshaft for use in 1986-2002 roller blocks with cam retainer plate. If used with a 1995-1997 LT1 with vented Optispark, the dowel pin will need to be removed and replaced with one that protrudes .650 in. to drive the Optispark. Computer tuning required. Camshaft features base circle radius of 0.580 in./0.584 ex. Designed for engines swapped into pre-pollution controlled vehicles. Not for use in registered emissions-controlled vehicles operated on public highways and roads.
